Auroom uses thermally modified wood throughout their lineup — primarily thermo-aspen for indoor interior surfaces (benches, walls, and trim), and thermo-spruce or thermo-pine for outdoor exterior cladding and structural elements. Auroom sauna kits are sold as the cabin or room structure only — benches, walls, ceiling, door, and trim are all included, but the heater is purchased separately. This gives you full flexibility to choose the heater type (electric or wood-burning) and output (kW) matched to your specific model's interior cubic volume. An annual application of UV-protective exterior oil or stain is recommended to maintain the wood's appearance, but structural performance is unaffected without it. The Cala Glass series features a full-width tempered glass front panel and door, creating a bright, open aesthetic that works particularly well in renovated bathrooms, spare rooms, or home wellness areas where visual connection to the room is desirable. Auroom outdoor models require a level, load-bearing base. A concrete slab, reinforced deck, or compacted gravel pad on pressure-treated timber bearers are all suitable. The surface must support the cabin weight (typically 800–2,500 lbs depending on model size) and be perfectly level — even minor tilt affects door alignment and wall seam integrity over time. A minimum 100mm clearance between the base and any soil is recommended to prevent moisture contact with the bottom timber frame. Never apply varnish, sealant, or paint to interior sauna surfaces — traditional sauna wood must breathe. For outdoor models, inspect the roof system and seals annually before winter, and apply a UV-protective exterior oil or stain every 1–2 years to maintain the wood's appearance.
